Arguments and Facts

Popular here in Krasnodar, this newspaper has been mentioned in several of our lessons. While shopping at the supermarket I decided to pick up a copy to see what we could read. This weekly paper has a TV schedule inside, various articles and lots of ads!

Articles include:
* “Did Bush pay for Saddam's ropes?”
* a "photo fact" showing Putin practicing shooting at a firing range.
* People who “really” do earn $100,000.00 here in Russia.
* Madonna pictured holding her new son from Africa.

Someday we will be able to fully read the paper without using the dictionary but today is not that day!

***Special thanks to Bonnie and Randy from Eugene, Oregon for sending us a Christmas package our first Christmas card!

  1. Learning a whole other language and culture is a great and difficult thing. I admire those who leave the comforts and familiarities of home.

p.s. Are you from Eugene? We have friends who moved there a few years ago to start a church. We were stranded in Seaside last September for 8 days while our vehicle received a new transmission.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Nice to meet you.

  2. No, we have never even been to Eugene. We have met people from there who came here on a mission trip!

By the seaside would be a wonderful place to be stranded... that happened to us last year when we went to renew our visas. We were stuck in Odessa Ulraine for a month. And being near the Black Sea was restorative to our souls!
