My name is Alida and my husband, Tom and I are missionaries living in Belize in Central America. We arrived here in September of 2010. Before that we served in Krasnodar, Russia for five years. Tom and I are currently involved in working with The Child Development Foundation providing counseling and helping to eradicate the commercial sexual exploitation of children here in Belize.
I hope that you will take the time to look around. There are posts on the various critters we have seen, some of our travels might be interesting like our time in Istanbul, or perhaps you'd enjoy some thoughts for today.
We are so grateful for all of the experiences we have had over the past 6 years and are excited to see what God has in store for us in the future!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I will be praying for you and your husband as you seek and serve our Father. May your blessings be abundant!

Hi! I am returning the favor and following you back thru GFC. I not sure if you wanted twitter followers or GFC as I did sign up for both. I am not too keen on sharing my Facebook unless a sponsor requires it. My friends complain they have to wade thru alot of stuff to get to the personal. Someone suggested I make a different one but that is too much trouble too. Have a great day!

I did not know you and your husband were missionaries...I commend you both on doing something this important!
ReplyDeleteHopping in from the UBP. Love that you've traveled so much. We love traveling. The sexual exploitation of women has always been in the back of my mind, but it's just something that I've been learning and more and more about recently. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in a very hard place.
ReplyDeleteCute picture of you and your hubby. Blessings to you as you serve the Lord together. I will be praying for you. I look forward to reading about your journey!

Hi, Sorry it took so long to follow you back. I think it's amazing the work you are doing. That is something that that tugs at my heart - children being exploited. Good luck to everything you do. I'll be looking forward to following you.
ReplyDeleteHi, I am over from the ubp party and wanted to thank you for coming to my blog. I am loving your blog. I am a new follower. I am blown away by what you and your hubby are doing and can't wait to read more. I am just getting involved with two women that started an organization to help women in Thailand and Cambodia because of the sexual slavery there also. God bless you and your husband. Thanks for stopping by my place. I've joined as a follower too - I'm interested to learn more of your mission work. Recently a speaker came to our church and shared shocking information about the sex trade - children as young as 8?! I'm so thankful you're working against it. I pray for God to show me my part in 'fighting the good fight'.

When I saw that you had served in Russia, I was especially drawn in. Do you speak the language fluently? The Russian language and people are on my heart, but so far I only have 2 semesters of the language. Love learning it though. Such a beautiful rich language!
Anyway...good to meet you & may God guide and direct all you do.
